Advancing sustainable mobility and green technologies through academic collaboration in Africa.
The GreenTech Mobility Project is an innovative initiative focused on developing eco-friendly transportation solutions and promoting environmental sustainability in the mobility sector across Africa. This project combines academic research with practical applications to address transportation challenges while minimizing environmental impact.
The initiative encompasses research and development of electric vehicles, sustainable public transportation systems, and smart mobility solutions tailored to African contexts. Through partnerships with academic institutions and industry stakeholders, the project aims to create scalable solutions that can be implemented across the continent.
Key focus areas include battery technology research, charging infrastructure development, policy framework development, and the creation of training programs for green mobility technologies.
Project Activities
Call for Applications for PhD Scholarships under the GreenTech Mobility Project
The Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) is pleased to invite applications for PhD studies under the GreenTech Mobility Project: Advancing Sustainable Technologies through Academic Collaboration in Africa.
This project is carried out in partnership with the University Nangui Abrogoua (Côte d’Ivoire), Kenyatta University (Kenya), the National University of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (Benin), and the University of Energy and Natural Resources (Ghana), which will host the PhD candidates. Supported by the European Union through the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme, the project aims to promote research, innovation, and academic cooperation in Africa in areas related to sustainable development.
CUR invites qualified Master’s degree holders to apply for doctoral studies in the following fields:
1. Renewable Energy and Energy Systems
2. Circular Economy and Waste Valorization
3. Sustainable Transport and Clean Mobility
4. Climate Adaptation and Resilience
Selected PhD candidates will benefit from the fully funded scholarships, study and research opportunities at partner African universities, joint supervision by experienced academics, access to modern research facilities and technologies, international academic and research experience
