Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Basic Entry Requirements
For Graduates Before 2023-2024:

Advanced General Certificate of Secondary Education (A Level) awarded by the Rwanda Education Board (REB) with at least two principal passes in relevant areas as the minimum level permitting entry to Higher Education.

For Graduates From 2023-2024 Onwards:

In addition to the minimum pass mark of 50% (Average) for candidates who studied in Rwanda as the minimum level permitting entry to Higher Education, applicant must have studied in secondary school, and passed the subjects related to the program they intend to study

International Students:

An Equivalence Rating of Certificate delivered by REB/NESA for applicants coming from other countries and wishing to join CUR.

Advanced diploma (A1) and Bachelor (A0) in Midwifery and Nursing
For those who graduated from 2024 upward

The first condition to be enrolled in Nursing and Midwifery (A1 or A0) is to have scored at least 60%.

A1:
At least grade S in Biology and Chemistry regardless of the combination or in fundamentals of nursing and Clinical attachment for those who graduated in Associate nursing from 2024 upward.
A0:
At least grade E in Biology and Chemistry regardless of the combination or in fundamentals of nursing and Clinical attachment for those who graduated in Associate nursing from 2024 upward.
Bridging / Upgrading Programs

Applicants seeking to upgrade from an Advanced Diploma (A1) to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Bachelor in Midwifery are admitted only within the same field in which they completed their Advanced Diploma program.

  • Admission is allowed only in the same professional field, regardless of the secondary school combination.
  • The applicant must hold a valid license to practice as a registered nurse or midwife.

The same admission requirements apply to equivalence documents as to those who studied locally.

For those who graduated before 2024
A1:
At least grade D in Biology and Chemistry or at least grade C- in fundamentals of nursing + introduction to anesthesia and in practical examination and to hold a valid licence to practice issued by NCNM for those who completed nursing before 2008.
A0:
At least grade C in Biology and Chemistry or at least grade C+ in fundamentals of nursing + introduction to anesthesia and in practical examinations and to hold a valid licence to practice issued by NCNM for those who completed nursing before 2008.
The same admission requirements will be applied to the equivalence document as to those who studied locally.

Valid medical certificate from an authorized health facility confirming your fitness for academic studies

Diploma and Transcript

Certified copies of your Diploma and Academic Transcript from any previous university attended

Postgraduate Diploma in Education Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: Candidates interested in enrolling in the Postgraduate Diploma in Education program must hold a Bachelor's Degree in any academic area in which they wish to be qualified as educators/teachers.

Professional Goal: This program is designed for graduates who want to pursue careers in education and teaching, regardless of their undergraduate specialization.

All certificates and diplomas must be notified (certified) copies. Original documents should not be submitted with the application.
