Chinese language and cultural education partnership
Chinese language education, cultural understanding, and linguistic cooperation
The Confucius Institute and the Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) have signed a non-profit cooperation agreement to promote Chinese language education and foster cultural and linguistic understanding between China and Rwanda.
Objectives include developing quality Chinese language programs, supporting teacher training, facilitating proficiency testing, and organizing cultural exchanges.
Key activities involve CI assisting CUR in designing curricula, selecting textbooks, and providing academic guidance aligned with international standards. CI will recommend qualified teachers, help recruit local instructors, and offer professional development through training workshops. CUR's students will access HSK, HSKK, and other recognized language proficiency tests, participate in language competitions, and join CI-organized cultural and academic events. Cultural exchange initiatives will include study tours, scholarships, and events such as the Chinese Bridge Competition.
Benefits for CUR include access to CI's expertise, teaching resources, testing services, and scholarships for both students and teachers. Teachers recognized by CI will benefit from professional growth opportunities.
Benefits for CI include expanding Chinese language education across Rwanda, strengthening cultural outreach, and increasing participation in CI programs through CUR's involvement.
