CURSU Swearing (Catholic University of Rwanda Students Union)
The swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected Student Union Committee of Catholic University of Rwanda was conducted successfully on 19th January, 2025. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter, as the incoming committee pledged to uphold the values of leadership, responsibility, and student welfare. The oath was administered by the Dean of Students Mrs. Julienne MUREKEYISONI, who emphasized the importance of accountability and dedication to serving the student community.
The outgoing Student Union Committee was duly recognized and thanked for their commendable efforts over the past year. Their achievements included paying the medical insurance for vulnerable people from Gisagara District, visiting other universities, welfare of the students, sports etc.… which have left a lasting impact on the institution and the community in general.
The newly sworn-in committee expressed their commitment to build upon these accomplishments and fostering a vibrant and inclusive environment for all students.
This ceremony was attended by the vice-Chancellor of Catholic University of Rwanda Dr. Fr. Laurent NTAGANDA, the mayor of Gisagara District Jerome RUTABURINGOGA, Chancen representative and other officials.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the previous committee for their service and wish the new committee great success in their term”. The vice chancellor said.
The Mayor of Gisagara District highlighted that CUR is one among the partners of Gisagara District as they contribute more in different corners. He added that he extends his heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing Student Union Committee for their exceptional service and dedication. Their efforts have positively impacted the student citizens of Gisagara and set a high standard of leadership. He congratulated the newly sworn-in committee and wishes them success in their journey ahead as they work towards fostering unity and excellence.
