The Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) continues to advance its commitment to academic excellence, peacebuilding, and international collaboration through two significant initiatives held in October 2026.
On 9 October, CUR hosted a seminar on Peace Pedagogy, jointly organised with partners from Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The seminar brought together university administrators and educators to exchange experiences on peace education, reconciliation, resilience, and conflict resolution. The CUR Peace, Unity, and Resilience Club presented its initiatives promoting peace, national unity, and resilience, which were highly appreciated by participants.
CUR Advances Peace and Trauma-Informed Education
The seminar concluded with a commitment to strengthen long-term cooperation and develop the Global Peace Ambassadors programme, a platform designed to connect partners in Rwanda and Germany and promote peacebuilding initiatives internationally.
Meanwhile, under the Erasmus+ programme, CUR welcomed Professors Wills Kalisha and Inga Storen from NLA University College, Norway, from 5 to 9 October 2026. Professor Storen taught trauma-informed education, while Professor Kalisha delivered lectures on research methodology, focusing on qualitative approaches. Their engagement strengthened academic exchange and initiated discussions on establishing a Centre for Trauma-Informed Education.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate CUR’s dedication to fostering inclusive education, strengthening international partnerships, and equipping learners and educators to contribute to peaceful and resilient communities.
Join us in transforming education into a force for peace. CUR invites universities, educators, policymakers, students, and community organisations to collaborate in advancing peace pedagogy, trauma-informed education, reconciliation, and sustainable development. Through shared knowledge and collective action, we can build a more peaceful and resilient future for all.
Our unity is our strength.
