Awarding Certificate Ceremony to the 25 Young women and Girls trained in ICT and STEM at Catholic University of Rwanda


On this 4th April 2023, the Catholic University of Rwanda in Partnership with UNWomen have awarded the certificate to the 25 young women and Girls trained in information communication and technology(ICT). These beneficiaries have been trained in the three months of training and three months in internship. They have been trained in Internet of Things(IOT), Graphic design and multimedia as well as in computer hardware maintenance and networking. During the event, trainees have demonstrated what they have learnt as an exhibition to the participants. The group in IoT have demonstrated that they are able to design and development a home security system using sensor to alert in case there a danger and a way of controlling light at home using a mobile application. They have also demonstrated the project about Smart irrigation system where the waring depend on the degree of water in the soil. The Group in Graphic design have demonstrated that they are able to design banners, pull up, books as well as photo editing and video making while the group in hardware maintenance are able to assemble and disassemble computers, printers as well as providing internet where it is not available not only that but also troubleshooting network andcomputer problem.

The head of teaching staff in this project have assisted in handing the certificate to the trainees.

They have demonstrated the application that they have build to control home light while you are located elsewhere. For example at work in your office. Here the Vice Chancellor of Catholic University of Rwanda were asking question related to the functionality of the system.

At the end of the ceremony, a memorial photo of trainees, strainer parents and the university officials have been taken and the trainees were very happy for the achievement.
