The Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) held its 8th graduation ceremony on December 17, 2022. This time, four hundred and thirty-430 students including 234 Women and 193 Men from 6 faculties and postgraduate program in education graduated. In the presence of Archbishop Philippe RUKAMBA, Chancellor of the Catholic University of Rwanda, the Bishop of the Diocese of BUTARE, various distinguished guests attended the ceremony, including the Mayor of the Gisagara District, Members of the Governing Body, safety bodies, and parents of students. The ceremony began in the morning with a march from the city of Huye to the BUTARE cathedral. The CUR Rector Father Dr. Laurent Ntaganda, in his opening remarks, welcomed all the guests.
The participants have been entertained by the CUR cultural troops with songs reflecting to the Rwandan Culture as well as parents and lecturers contribution in the success of the graduands to get their Bachelor degree and post graduate diploma in education.
Various guests have been attended the ceremony including the the representative of University such as PIASS. Here the Rector of CUR were with The Rector of PIASS.
The Best performer from each faculty has been given an award to encourage others. A laptop was given to the student who got the highest marks. The smart phones were awarded to the one first class of each faculty. Here, the Mayor of GISAGARA District were assisted in giving the awards to one of the graduands.
